Chelsea Zegler has spent the last 10 plus years in Wisconsin learning, researching, and teaching about agriculture across the state through diverse perspectives, including weed science, forage production, and soil science. Most recently she was the Dane County Extension Crops and Soils Educator, where she worked with many partners to conduct on-farm research and support producer experimentation and storytelling around cover crops, alternative forages, and soil health. Chelsea previously worked for both the Soil Science Department and Agronomy Department on campus conducting research for Extension Faculty. She received her Bachelor’s degree at UW-Madison and continued there to complete a Master’s in Agroecology, where she focused on forage production and soil health on dairies across the state, partnering with the USDA-Dairy Forage Research Center and industry partners. She is honored to join the new Ag and Water Quality Program where she hopes to continue to collaborate with producers and stakeholders to address the link of water quality and ag production practices.
